A fresh and independent voice for the community.

Carrie Cares About…

Meet Carrie Pasquarello

Meet Carrie, a Cambridge resident with decades of domestic and international experience who is committed to bringing her exceptional leadership to the Cambridge City Council.

Carrie’s experience stems from various diplomatic roles in Europe and Asia. During her time with the US Department of State, she served in pivotal positions, including Assistant to the US Ambassador, the Deputy Chief of Mission, the Economic Counselor, and the Community Liaison Office. Carrie provided vital guidance to ensure the safety and well-being of fellow American citizens and facilitated strategies for housing, schooling, transportation, and travel, the same factors that impact our Cambridge residents.

Carrie is a passionate small business owner, which gives her a deep understanding of the crucial role that local government must play in nurturing and preserving the vibrancy of local businesses. Small businesses are the lifeblood of our community, and her dedication and experience will ensure they receive the support they need to thrive.

Carrie's global experiences has given her a cultural literacy that can foster collaboration among a wide spectrum of stakeholders. Her ability to communicate and connect with diverse communities is important to better develop the synergy between the Cambridge City Council and residents that feel their voices have been ignored.

Carrie is the Common Sense Candidate to Bring Advocacy to the Citizens of Cambridge

I am dedicated to honoring and safeguarding our city’s rich cultural heritage and traditions while managing the progress and growth we need to maintain our thriving community. I believe we need a better balance between preserving our distinctive character and embracing the changes that we must face. My experience will help the City Council blend tradition with innovation so that Cambridge remains a place where our history is celebrated, our values are respected, and our future is vibrant and inclusive for all. At the same time, I firmly believe that progress and growth are essential for a thriving community.

Carrie Cares

My work has included spearheading community awareness and prevention programs for various vulnerable demographics, genders, and age groups. My experience touched on vital issues such as senior scam prevention, gender-based violence, employee safety, student well-being, and travel safety. I have advocated for my insights and expertise before state agencies like the Massachusetts Commission on the Status of Women and the State House. My involvement extended to legislative initiatives aimed at instilling transparency within the billion-dollar study abroad industry. I have been invited to the White House as a subject matter expert to address critical safety concerns. As a fresh and independent city council candidate, I am eager to bring more collaborative efforts to foster unity in our community. Our greatest challenge is connected to helping our most vulnerable residents, including drug-addicted, unhoused, those with mental health needs, and victims of crime. Often, these challenges are regional and intertwined. We must address the root cause with a holistic and empathic approach while reducing crime to protect our community from harm. More must be done to give hope with drug reduction efforts, emergency housing, innovative resources, and support for those in need. In Massachusetts, there is an overdose epidemic, and in Cambridge alone, we have experienced dozens of overdose deaths, with approximately a 33% increase from last year. It is my sincere belief that those who struggle with substance use disorder, as well as their loved ones, can find hope in the journey towards recovery.
